Snorre Sturlason, the medieval Icelandic historian who wrote the story of the kings of Norway describes Olaf, the king who introduced Christianity to Norway as an utterly ruthless man, who killed anyone who opposed him or his new religion. Yet, he is considered a Saint by the Catholic Church. Are there any other medieval saints whose reputations seem dubious to modern eyes?
